This is an original collectible letter, with beautiful mushroom letterhead written and signed by Leonard A. Scheele, (July 25, 1907 - January 8, 1993). Mr Scheele was the Surgeon General of the United States from 1948 to 1956. This letter was written later in his life when he was the President of Warner Chilcott Laboratories. In the letter he refers to the lowly mushroom that has become a proverbial symbol of rapid growth in the early days of our country, when towns sprang up like mushrooms. No date on the letter and it was folded into thirds when mailed. In good condition with only a small mark on the back.
